Tennis fans are in for a double-header spectacular event when The Venetian Macao Tennis Showdown 2009 opens October 25, 2009. Combining the top talents in tennis of today and tomorrow the sports spectacular at the Cotai Arena features an encounter between two of the game’s greatest players ---Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi---and two of the brightest future talents---Junior world No. 1 Yuki Bhambri and American champion Ryan Harrison.
The younger stars will kick off the afternoon with a timed 45-minute singles match, followed by the match-up between Sampras and Agassi—two sets and a ten-point tie-breaker if one set all. This will be a historic first encounter between the two legendary greats since Sampras defeated Agassi to capture the 2002 US Open.
Closing match will be one set of doubles with pairings to be determined by a draw at the “Meet the Players” Press Conference on October 24. Here the clashing titans of tennis will join the future champions for an exciting doubles event.
