I wanna hurl

Figures a guy named Patrick would win on St. Paddy's day. Although he has an Italian surname.

Patrick "The Deep Dish" Bertoletti downed a stomach-turning 17 3/4 corned beef sandwiches in 10 minutes, edging out Coney Island hot dog champ Joey Chestnut, to win The Stroehmann Sandwich Slamm Corned Beef on Rye Eating Contest at Gallagher's Steakhouse.

"I didn't expect to win," said Bertoletti. "I have to work tomorrow but I'm going to celebrate tonight!"

Even though Bertoletti works for a vegetarian catering company, the 23-year-old professed his love for the traditional St. Patrick's Day delicacy.

Sandwiches used in this contest each had six ounces of the thinly-sliced cured meat, two slices of rye and absolutely no condiments.

Have I joined anything of this sort?

Not exactly.

When I was younger, on New Year's Eve, I would compete with my cousins Michael, Chuck, and Ramy to see who could eat the most number of steaks at the annual family New Year's Party. The steaks aren't that big but they were sizeable enough. I beat them for three years running... 17 steaks (chill, they're the size of the palm of your hand). Hahahahha. But after that Mike beat me and then my brother, John soon became the champ. Damn. That gave me some heartburn!

Anyone remember that bar along Wilson... Yesterday's? I loved going there coz of the music. They periodically held drinking contests but I never did join. My cousin in NYC Donald signed up once and if I'm not mistaken, he won once. One time the grand prize was a trip to Hong Kong and well, he lost. Hahahaha.

As for sandwiches... most every I've eaten in one sitting... two Big Macs. The old Big Macs not the new ones that look like bite size burgers. Hahahaha. That sucks.
