I think those who voted for the UAAP Volleyball Awards got bonked once too often in the head

They've done it again. Handed out awards to those who shouldn't have gotten it in the first place. Last year's MVP should have been Charo Soriano but well....

And it's a repeat cheat.

MEN'S DIVISION
Best Attacker - Jayson Ramos (UST)! C'mon, we all know it should be Chris Macasaet of DLSU.
Best Blocker - Lloyd Arden Belgado (UP)
Best Server - Rey Karl Dimaculangan (UST)
Best Digger - Henry James Pecaña (UST). Yes, Pecaña is a huge part of UST's success but he was better as an attacker than a digger. This should go to Gilbert Longavela of Adamson.
Best Setter - Gerald Magtoto (UP). Grade A jerk or not. He got the job done.
Best Receiver - Bernandino Lorenz Casanova (DLSU)! Where in the blue hell did this come from? Richard Rocero of NU got robbed here.
Rookie of the Year - Duane Craig Teves (ADMU)

WOMEN'S DIVISION
Best Attacker - Aiza Maizo (UST)
Best Blocker - Jacqueline Alarca (DLSU). Sorry but this should is rightfully Aiza Maizo's.
Best Server - Mecaila Irish May Morada (FEU)
Best Digger - Lizlee Ann Gata (AdU). Was anyone watching? Jennylyn Reyes of NU did a masterful job! Kasi NU? Ganyan ba yan?
Best Setter - April Linor Jose (FEU). Repeat after me... Jennifer Hiponia of Adamson. Jennifer Hiponia of Adamson.
Best Receiver - Manilla Santos (DLSU).
Rookie of the Year - Melissa Gohing (DLSU). WTF! DLSU's success was largely because of its vets and their superb team play and not because of this super maarte player. Angeline Gervacio of ADMU should have been tabbed for this. Or Pau Soriano of Adamson (thanks, Eddie for reminding me about her). Yes, she's worthy as well. Gohing. What have you guys been smoking?
