The New York Yankees open the season by playing on the road.
They'll be playing three games in three different cities before heading home to New York.
First stop is Baltimore in the hitter friendly Camden Yards, then its off to Kansas City for a pair of games then its to last year's AL Champ, Tampa Bay. They'll be on the road for 10 straight days before their home opener in the new Yankee Stadium!
Holy Cow, as the Scooter would say.
Alex Rodriguez won't be ready 'til May. So this most likely will be the starting line-up when the team goes to Maryland for a three-game series.
Pitcher: CC Sabathia
Catcher: Jorge Posada
1Base: Mark Teixiera
2Base: Robinson Cano
3Base: Cody Ransom
SS: Derek Jeter
RF: Xavier Nady
CF: Johnny Damon
LF: Melky Cabrera
DH: Hideki Matsui
Bullpen: Joba Chamberlain
Closer: Mariano Rivera
Bench: Nick Swisher and Jose Molina (this team can really use Pudge Rodriguez).
Okay, I like this line-up. In a way this reminds me of the 1995 team. That was the one before all those World Series titles. It's a team predicated on solid hitting, good pitching, and superb defense. They aren't a home run hitting team which is fine by me. Just win, baby. Win.
