Hiss! Boo! Dammit!

This is exactly how I feel about my New York Yankees. Twelve straight trips to the playoffs are in jeopardy and if you ask me, it ends now. That's not a lack of faith but reality that bites NY fans everywhere in the ass.

Watching the Yankees from 1982-93 was painful. I once walked into a curio store in Greenwich Village and saw a box baseball cards of the players from that era. I asked how much and the guy behind the counter said, "Ah dem losers... two bucks says it's all yers."

I forked over the dollars and looked at the cards: Steve Sax, Roberto Kelly, Don Mattingly, Steve Howe, and a whole bunch of others. I was surprised a card of Donnie Baseball was slipped in.

The great thing was they were getting better. They brought in Wade Boggs, Paul O'Niell, and Bernie Williams to name a few. Stick Michaels and Buck Showalter knew what they were doing.

But the good times have hit the skids in a big time way. I still read up and watch the team on a daily basis and after getting routed by the California Angels 12-1 and picking a fight with them, I'm wearing a brown bag on my head too.

Go out on a winning note, Yanks!
